The 2027 Key Stage 2 SATs take place from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027. This guide sets out the full timetable for each day, when results are released and the other key dates for Year 6 and the rest of primary school.

Every school in England sits each test on the same day. Headteachers decide the start time, but tests must never be taken before the day set in the timetable and must be taken in this order.
Tip: if your child is ill or absent on a test day, the school can apply for a timetable variation. If it is approved, your child can sit the missed test up to 5 school days later.

When Will We Get the Results?
Schools can see KS2 results online from Tuesday 6 July 2027. Your child’s school will decide how to share them with you, but you should receive the test results and teacher assessment judgements by the end of the summer term. Read more about when KS2 SATs results are released.

Please note: the government has said it is reviewing future assessment arrangements following the Curriculum and Assessment Review. The arrangements for 2026 to 2027 are unchanged and any later changes will be confirmed by the Standards and Testing Agency.

The best preparation is steady practice rather than last-minute cramming. Short, regular sessions with KS2 SATs practice papers help children get used to the question styles and timings.
